Welcome to DevTool House. DevTool House is a free, no-login platform offering 30+ online tools for developers, freelancers, and businesses — including developer utilities, Pakistan localized calculators, and DevSavr (ephemeral file and text sharing).

This Privacy Policy explains what data (if any) we collect when you use devtoolhouse.com, how we use it, and your rights. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

By using our services you agree to the practices described in this policy.

DevTool House does not require any account registration or login. We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

• Anonymous usage analytics: Tool usage counts (which tools are used and how often). No personally identifiable information is attached to these counts.
• IP addresses: Temporarily logged for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. Not stored beyond the request lifecycle.
• Form submissions: Data you voluntarily submit via the Contact form, Suggest a Tool form, or Write a Review form (name, role, review text, etc.). This data is stored only to respond to your inquiry or display your review.
• Tool inputs: Text or data you enter into our tools is sent to our server for processing. It is not stored after the response is returned.

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the platform and its tools.
• Enforce rate limits to ensure fair, reliable access for all users.
• Analyze aggregate usage trends (which tools are popular) to guide development.
• Respond to contact form messages and suggestions.
• Display user-submitted reviews (with your consent via form submission).

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Tool inputs (JSON, code, text, URLs, etc.) are processed server-side in real time and are not stored after the response is sent. Your inputs are transient.

DevSavr rooms are ephemeral by design. Shared text and uploaded files are stored only for the duration of the room session (15–60 minutes) and are permanently deleted when the room expires or is manually destroyed. No persistent copy is kept.

Review and contact form submissions are stored in our database (MongoDB) to fulfil the purpose for which they were submitted.

We use browser storage only for functional purposes:

• Theme preference (localStorage via next-themes): Stores your dark/light mode preference.
• Dismissed banner state (sessionStorage): Stores whether you have dismissed a notification banner during your current session.
• Tool preferences (localStorage): Some tools remember your last settings (e.g., indent size, selected language) for convenience.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site cookies of any kind.

Some tools interact with external third-party APIs:

• IP Address Lookup: Uses an external geolocation API. The IP address you query is sent to that provider.
• Currency Converter: Fetches live exchange rates from an external rates API.
• DNS Lookup: Queries public DNS resolution services.
• API Request Tester: Forwards your configured HTTP request to the target URL you specify. We do not log request bodies.

If analytics are added in the future (e.g., Plausible Analytics), they will be privacy-first, cookieless, and this policy will be updated accordingly.

DevSavr is our ephemeral file and text sharing tool. It is designed with privacy in mind:

• No login or account is required to create or join a room.
• Room contents (text snippets and uploaded files) are stored only for the session duration (15–60 minutes).
• All data is permanently deleted on room expiry or manual destruction.
• No persistent copy or backup of room data is retained.
• Room codes are randomly generated and are not publicly listed — only someone with the code can join.

You are responsible for the content you share in DevSavr rooms. Do not share sensitive credentials, private keys, or personal data in DevSavr rooms.

We implement reasonable security measures to protect data in transit and at rest:

• All traffic is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit).
• Rate limiting protects against brute-force and abuse attacks.
• Input validation and sanitization on all API endpoints.
• Content Security Policy (CSP) headers on all pages.
• No sensitive data is stored in plaintext.

No system is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

DevTool House is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and note the change in our Changelog. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
